How To Find Your Console

Yes, you NEED to find your console, or else you can't play.

Your Xbox must be hooked up with and ethernet cable (internet cord) to your computer. Once that is done, on Halo 3 click System link and then Find Game just stay in that option. On Xbox Connect click tools, find, my console, then click OK and it should begin finding your console.
