theres a program that fixes your xex, i think its called H3 Unlock, you need to open your xex in it

I did that, I just do not know how to enable just-in-time debugging on my computer

you dont need to activate jit debugging, that just shows on every error message, what does the error message say before that.

this is what it says:

access denied, try running as admin(if on vista or W7), or even make sure the file is on somewhere local to the program to ensure that it doesnt need to activate some network permissions

Make sure that you are using the original halo3 xex that came with the halo 3 disk and not the xex that came with the multiplayer disk bundled with ODST.

Also when I try to open a .map in "Alteration" I get an error. Could somebody help please!

Right click the map you are trying to open, select properties, at the bottom the map should say Read only with a checked box, uncheck it, then click Apply and OK, it should now work fine. BTW, I advise making an unmodded back up so when you want to undo a mod or make a new one on that map, you can start with a fresh new map.

Hope I helped
