Remembering September 11Th, 2001

6 posts in this topic

On 9/11/2001, a terrorist organization called "Al Queda" was responsible for an attack on the United States of America. It has now been ten years since that attack. This attack was on some of America's most distingushied buildings, the Pentagon and the World Trade Centers. None are in existence the way they were before the attack. These attacks destroyed the buildings entirely, forcing the death of about 3000 civilians and 343 firefighters. This attack brought the country together that day. We were determined to help others deal with the loss of their loved ones. I remember that there were no planes in the sky for days after what happened.

You must think about what it must have been like to be on those planes. One plane in particular had people on it that surpassed the line of duty. This plane was United Flight 93. The people aboard this plane were able to try to retake the aircraft and took their own lives to save others who may have died. It took bravery beyond what I could ever imagine for those men and women to save other Americans. We know that plane was most likely heading for Washington D.C.

The results of this day has now lead the country into war in Afganistan in order to shut down this terrorist organization, costing us the death of several American Forces as well as other NATO country soldiers. There have been so many people that have been directly affected by all the issues. Please, if you know someone who was directly affected, go be with them today. They will need all the support they can get.

September 11th, 2001, was a tragic day for the United States. Those who have died in innocence will never be forgotten. I want you all to please reflect on what happened. There is now a memorial at the previous twin tower site that has the name of all who died on that day. All of these people who died will be remembered by me forever. Please continue to look back to that day and also share your 9/11 stories with the site if you are comfortable.

Just think i'll leave this here;

September 11th 2001, Arab terrorists fly planes into buildings, killing 3000 American citizens on US soil.

September 11th 1944, The RAF firebomb Darmstadt killing 11,500 German citizens on their own soil.

Can't help thinking that once again, Britain just does it better, and first.

I had a friend, and his dad was on United Flight 93 that day. I no longer know that friend, but he has had a hard time getting over all that.

I am glad that Osama Bin Laden is gone, and I am also glad that another leader of Al Queda was killed recently

I just watched a recording of the Bush special on TV about remembering 9/11. People were jumping off of the side of the building rather than burn to death. Not to make a joke in a serious matter as this one, but if I ever work in a tall office building, I'm keeping this under my desk. http://www.tonywings...com/apache.html

"I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you, and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon." -President Bush

Tingles run through my spine as I hear this.
