Hello Xboxchaos im new here and i need a lot help understanding how to mod and stuff as far as i know is that you need a hard drive file called a jtag and a special program or something. I would like to learn those terms you guys use use. So ya i need to learn.

For these map mods do they mean mods in the map and how do i get my hands on those

A "JTAG" is actually a term used to identify an Xbox that has been hacked so that it can run unofficial code. To get one, you will need to acquire an older console and wire to some special ports on the motherboard. See this topic for more information.

And yes, map mods are changes to the game's map files. You need a JTAG to use them. Reach mods can be found here and Halo 3 mods can be found here. If you want to make map mods, you can grab Ascension for Reach and Alteration (I couldn't find a working link anywhere, sorry) for Halo 3.

First off welcome! My buddy is exactly right with this stuff. You can probably google around for alteration as there are many different revisions of it.

I also heard from some people that you have to burn a chip in your xbox or something wat does that do. Wait i cant find question mark on my keyboard.

Well there aren't really any mod chips. There will be some in the near future for this new exploit just discovered. I wouldn't worry about it.
