I need to update my flashed xbox. to play anything new like skyrim. problem is i payed some one to flash it for me and i cant reflash it for 30 bucks i just dont have the money. i tried updating the driver with a real disk of skyrim but that didnt help any. it just stopped updating and game me the same thing again (i was using a friends game for this) then i tried to change a few things such as hdd and anything else i could. and what i need is a cheap easy method of fixing this problem with out connecting to xbox live (unless i can do it with my disk drive unplugged and itll just update strictly the firmware)

Did you run an update off of a retail disc? If so, you may have just f***ed your drive unless you have a backup of the firmware from the guy who did it for you. The recent updates have cracked down on piracy. What kernal was your xbox on previously?

i did with portal two but all burned games still work but not skyrim (retail disk) or dead island (burn)

but couldn't the drive be flashed to an OFW and then updated to read XGD3 then put the iXtreme +lt 2.0 on it AFTER the update? that should fix the problem aslong as you don't connect to XBL while using the flashed drive and update with it flashed

I have NO clue what any of that means. i have not connected to xbox live ever with this xbox and never will. although im wanting to be able to get the firm where update to let me play these newer games. for instance to play these i've herd the jtag just need to run "dl 2.25" so what would the equivalent be for flashed xboxes?

probably just updating the drive to the newest firmware, but not including the dash update would do it

EDIT: if your flashing guy won't do it for free, then ship it to me and I'll do it free (both way shipping)

and I'm doing it for free for two reasons. youre on this site, and because skyrim is so freaking amazing. I haven't stopped playing by will since sunday last week.

yeah i wanna play it super bad. the guy said he'd do it it would just take 2 and a half weeks.

do you just have a tut for it that would be basic to fallow because i could do it my self. i have the stuff just not the knowledge.

i herd if i use my other xbox's disk drive and put it into my flashed xbox. itll let me update it with out harming the flashed disk drive by using a new game like skyrim.

I was about to flash my xbox, I was told to get a SATA cable and jungle flasher. Im pretty sure you cant find official drive firmware off the internet. But I think if you can find a friend with a "Virgin"/retail xbox (with the same disc drive type) than you could copy their updated drive firmware and flash it to yours (but dont flash theirs!)

**However there is one stipulation! If you have the liteon type drive than you will need an expensive probe to extract the keys**

So if you have any other type of dvd drive other than liteon than this should be easy, all you need is sata cable, jungle flasher and plenty of youtube :smile:However if you clever with hardware modifications you can make your own probe (if its a LiteOn) with this: http://www.techkings.org/xbox-360/594-how-build-your-own-lite-probe-illustrated-guide.html

Red. You'd have to install portIO64.sys which is a pain in the ass if you're using a SATA. And I do not recommend spoofing another drive as your flashed drive and using it. it could be very very dangerous if you don't do it exactly correct.

And you'd have to update the xbox along with the drive for it to update the drive itself. and Mc Jayce the probe is quite expensive, and you'd have to be using a CK3 Pro or Lite for the probe to attach correctly I believe.
