i have been having a conversation with fbwalshyftw (huge youtube channel with 100k subs) in the last few days. here are some of our messages:

I'm always looking to make my channel more diverse with its material, and I would love to have more videos like this. nice, would be an honor. sadly the halo modding scene is nearly extinct. there are only 3 remaining, active .map modders (me being one of them) and a gamesave modding team. these are their channels. you might want to talk to them too

I added you on Windows Live Messenger. I'm sad to hear that the Halo: Reach modding community is so inactive; I saw your videos, and they all looked awesome. I would like to post the Tron and Dirtboard ones with your permission.

I think Halo: Reach modding has a lot of potential, and I think I can help you guys out. I would recommend teaming up to strengthen the XboxChaos YouTube channel since that seems to be your official hub. Aggregate your best content there, and I can help promote it through uploading some of it and favoriting your videos so they appear in my feed. When the channel becomes large enough, I can recommend you guys via my Machinima contact, so you guys can partner the channel and start making money off of your videos, which should motivate an increase in both quantity and quality. You guys should also make tutorials on how people can get into modding Halo to increase the size of the modding community as well.

personally, i think he´s right. we should stop uploading our vids to our own, small channels and instead focus on the xboxchaos channel. all of the .map modders can upload their mods or create video tutorials ( except me, my accent sounds really strange

) , the liberty team could upload a few more demonstrations and derek could make machinimas. teaming up with walshy also seems to be perfect to get the initial attention, our channel needs.

so whats your opinion? do you think teaming up is the right thing and would you be willing to upload your vids to the xboxchaos channel?

Not too keen on the "don't upload to out own channels anymore" part myself, but if anyone wants to list what kind of videos would be of a high importance I could do those kinds of videos just for the XC channel.

I kinda like my little setup now but I'm open to debate.

me neither. ill probably upload my videos to my channel and to the xboxchaos channel. i consider halo modding vids the most important for us, because they make our channel stand out of the mass. of course other vids are important too, since a wide variety also attracts potential subscribers.

well, im fine although i do enjoy my own youtube, which would still have 4000+ subs if i didnt have to have it closed.

and i can still record on my devs. although i need to fix my second one right now which has a good video card and doesnt do its glitches.

EDIT: well, upon some quick thinking since i have the chaos password i will upload all of my main video there. excluding test ones. however my uploads will be delayed till a day or so after i have uploaded them on my youtube.

so what´s the current state of this project? are you still working on it? im asking because walshy contacted me again and asked what we are up to and when we would start uploading to the main xbc channel.

Maybe people that upload can have their channel in the "Other Channels" part on the XboxChaos channel. That would encourage people to upload to that one as well for possible subscribers on their private channel.

I just read that over again. That would be wonderful to have! We need to get modding back in full force before halo 4 comes out, so that we'll have some enthusiasm left over for people to try to make the plugins for it when it comes out.
