How Can I Mod Where A Projectile Shoots From?

12 posts in this topic

I think maybe adding a LOT of gravity should do the trick quite nicely.

when making weapons for earlier halo games there was always 3 markers that depicted where the bullet would spawn, a primary marker, secondary, and a firing marker, in halo 3 i managed to make airstrike guns by simple moving one marker so it would seem that there is only one marker. it will likely be said in the barrels struct in weap so if you look for one in their you may find it easier.

Ok so I whent through EVERYTHING in the barrels struct and all I found was bullet spread and projectiles per shot (Not fire), which could be useful for the shotgun I geuss.

I tried all the markers in the model and I couldn't find anything.

I even whent through EVERYTHING in the projectile... Nothing.

Did I mention I whent back through the ENTIRE weap tag and found NOTHING!

Although something I changed in the weap tag made the plasma pistol really big and the forge selection thingy was big too.

I'm out of ideas... <_<

In the model of the banshees weapon should be a marker that controles where the banshee bolts are comeing from..

Edit:

Hmm, I just checked, the banshee is kinda odd because it's weapons don't have a HLMT file, and I'm guessing the may not have a model? So I'm not really sure how you could change the firing location... It should work on the falcons chin gun though...

All vehicle weapons are like that.

I'll go and look into this once I get settled in.

Edit: you literally edit the firing marker, lol. Its always 257 (for every weapon ever), and it's located in the banshee's MODE.

It's just that finding the right values can be tricky. For this pic I used i=0 j=.5 k=0 w=.5

I found a way to do this with only changing one number, and it's really simple. The name for that will be included when I update the projectile plugin. However, If you do set it to shoot straight down, it like instantly hits the ground.

I could upload a pre-release plugin and tell you what to change if your still looking for this. Just let me know.

Edit: Here's something that might be of interest
