Since gamecheat got me the quick offsets and showed me you dont need special securities removed from the xex like we did in halo 3 i have been making some mapinfo files to show mods.

If you have any you wish to add to the list just post as a reply.

For any of these, all you need to do is put the files into the proper folders like you would DLC maps and patch the patch onto the original unmodded. Make sure to name the new .map the same as the patch in order for it to be detected in game.

Map ID's for custom maps are also shown below, make sure you choose an un-chosen one.

Youll also need to manually set the ID in scnr of the .map as well.

I plan to update ascension with a proper map packager like we used to have in alteration.

So, I could have 4764367 different Forge World .maps?! :biggrin:

its a two byte number for the id, meaning only 9999 different variations can be done, so at most 9998 forge worlds(mainmenu needs to use an id)

yea, just remember each map is 126mb about so if you had 9998 forge worlds you would need about 1230gb to store them all.

Updated the first topic with my small editor for the .mapinfo files. youll need to manually edit the .map to match the map ID however and when choosing your ID make sure it isnt one thats already used above.

as well Pigeon, upon looking at these other maps even for a two byte number it seems it can go higher than 9999, im seeing in the ten thousands.

that is the proper name and if your ever unsure of what to call the .map you can always open the .mapinfo to view what its set to.

as well make sure your original map was clean or the patch applied right
