Problems With Halo Reach .xex Files

9 posts in this topic

I have a problem with Halo Reach, and I can't find a way to fix it. All Halo Reach default.xex files cause my game to have framerate problems. This goes for all defualt.xex files out there. This includes the one straight off of the disk, modded ones and the haloreachTU1.xex on the anniversary disk. It even does this if I launch the disk while using a retail dash. It only happens on my rgh. I don't have problems with other games or their default.xex files.

This is an example of the issue:

Does anyone know how to fix this?

How do you know its the Xex? It probably isn't.

it could be a hardware related failure. maybe your gpu is overheating. but that wouldnt explain why it only affects one particular game and not all of them.

so my second thought would be that some part of your hack is causing this problem. try reflashing your console with an other version of your reset glitch loader.

this is by far the weirdest reach problem that i ever have heard of.

Try flashing with freeboot, it has never given me problems. Also make sure everything is intact on your board by reflowing the solder a simple Towel Trick cab achieve this. And also try running the console with out the case, to see if it is anything to do with overheating as Snipe said.

EDIT: I just thought are you only replacing the xex files? Try recopying all the files off of the original Reach disk, you may be missing a file or one may of not copied properly and got corrupted, or try copying all the files off of a friends Reach disk, as it may be different file that messed up on the disk.
