Sorry if it's a dumb question, completely new to all of this. Basically, all I want is a yes or no answer to 'is it possible?'. I'm planning on getting a jtagged Xbox but really trying to figure out how much else I can do with it for Halo Reach. Google searched all over the place for it and couldn't find an answer anywhere to this particular one. Yes, this is one of the main things I want a jtag for. Sad, I know.

My all-time favorite vehicle is the troop hog and I was just wondering if it was possible at all through any mod programs to make the back three seats usable and save it to a Forge World map, regardless of whether or not it looks ridiculous with unsuitable animations. I know it's already possible to at least spawn it on Forge World.

Again, sorry, probably a stupid question.

Easily possible, but if you're asking if it will ultimately save to a forge variant for use on retail or whatever, that much will not work.

For a working troop hog you'd be stuck using it locally or over Xlink/Xbox Connect with people on a modded console/devkit that have the exact same edits as you (by using a patch)

Right on, thanks for the quick response! Not to worry, I didn't expect it to work on a retail.

I was just a bit skeptical about the possibility of it as I have searched for a download to use on a jtagged Xbox but couldn't find one anywhere.

Out of curiousity, do you happen to know if somebody has already made a patch for this somewhere that is available for download?

If not, that's ok. I will become more familiarized with modding before flooding the forums with noob questions.

Again, thanks for your help.

Ok, I'll give it a shot once I get all set up; should be a good learning/trial and error experience.

Thank you sir!

Sorry to bump this thread back up, but I have a few parts I'm stuck at.

Made the seats enterable but just can't get the camera angles right as it still wants to face toward the front of the Warthog since I used the animation from the Warthog passenger seat.

Is it possible to set a default camera angle on entry, and would this fix the animations as well?

The camera has nothing to do with the animation.

You're wanting to change the Pitch Range min/max and Yaw min/max in the seat struct.

Get in the seat and poke small differences to those values until you are happy with the result. Increasing/decreasing by .1 should do fine.

Ah, ok!

One last question then I'll leave ya alone, any way to adjust the animations so that both my legs aren't shoved my butt?

Thanks!

Depends on the animation you use, some require certain nodes to anchor limbs down. If the nodes are not present, they derp up as you have seen.

If you want a good sitting animation use one of the falcon passenger seats. You'll have to untick "Allows Weapons" though unless you want a floating gun.

When I was testing the Troop Hog shortly after you posted this topic, I found "6968" to be a good animation for the seats in Forge World.

In some seats I recall being able to edit the co-ordinates of the player's hands and feet, so you can fine tune the position you are in.

The hog passenger I think, but you would need to go threw and pop a node in to where the hands would need to be attached to.

Sorry, hate to keep reviving this but I suppose it's better than starting a new thread altogether. I'm at an impasse. I've tried everything to try and reposition the limbs.

Am I just to copy the nodes for each limb from mode/objects/character/spartans/spartans and paste it as a new node under mode/objects/vehicles/human/warthog/weapons/warthog_troop/warthog_troop?

Or does anybody happen to know what the nodes are that the limbs attach to? I've tried just tinkering with the nodes that are already present on the Warthog to see if it would possibly adjust anything but to no avail.

You need to set it to nodes that are on the troop hog turret model, the nodes that are in the hog don't apply to the troop turret. You will need to move the nodes around, try the damage aria nodes. I'll toy around with it my self when I'm back home..

Hmm, yeah if you wanted to try it too when you get the chance and see what you can come up with I'd really appreciate it. Just froze my Xbox messing with them, lol. I'm not seeing damage aria nodes.
