How To Clean An Xbox 360 Interally (Phat And Slim)

This will be my first tutorial on here (I know pathetic right?) so enjoy!

How To Clean An Xbox 360 (Phat/Slim) Internally

NOTE: I am NOT responsible for what happens to your xbox 360. Contiune at your own risk!

Requirements

• Torx -10
  
• Paper clip or a way to pop the clips on the xbox 360
  
• 360 Unlock Kit (optional. Includes all opening tools in it)
  
• Leaf Blower
  
• Patience
  

I will not show you how to open an Xbox 360. If you don't know how, simply look at the video below using the tools listed above. (tools may vary based on methods of dissasembling)

After you have your Xbox 360 opened:

1. Remove the DVD Drive (you can take cables out, but not needed).
   
2. Remove the White air passage (Phat Systems Only) or Remove the Black cushion around the fan (Slim Systems Only.
   
3. Place the Xbox 360 on the ground in an open area (preferably a garage or outside.
   
4. Turn on the leaf blower and keep it about 1-3 feet away from Xbox so you do not damage anything.

1. (Optional) Use the Leaf blower to clean off both the upper and lower cases, the grills, bottom/top of the dvd drive.
   
2. Re-assemble the Xbox 360
   
3. Plug the xbox 360 back in and make sure it works.
   
4. Enjoy your clean xbox 360 that will perform well without overheating

Ah, that's how you do it. I just leave mine on a runway for an hour or so.

I prefer an air compressor myself, much more precise. And I tend to take the board out of the metal housing as dust can work its way under the board too.

Its also good to gently do the same with the dvd drive, and swab the eye with rubbing alcohol.

You know you're a redneck when you clean your xbox with a leaf blower. Air compressors work great, I wait until the psi is low because I don't need 150 psi to blow out an xbox xD You should also take your fans out, it can mess them up if they get blown like that because they are spinning without the motors spinning them (same with computers). Then I go at the motherboard with a cotton swab and alchohol. Works best if you do it that way. I thought this tut was a joke at first, but have fun ruining your fans.
