Hey, I don't mean this in any bad way, and I don't wanna get on anyones nerves or bad side here, but in all honesty how can you expect the halo modding community to grow, if a good bit of stuff is kept secret or private, kept away from us.. Do you not trust your own members???!?!?!?!?! Do you think we will leach to the world?not have faith in us... thats what hurts me... i love the site, i love everyone on this site, but how do you expect us to stay and or keep modding when everything good found/released on p-net,reasearched is not released to us to study to investigate to learn... how do u expect us as a community, to not fall apart and split away, how do you expect us to grow this way? Not all of us are as smart as the higher members, not all of us know everything, not all of us have the same hook ups that you all do.. just take in mind, what do we even mean to y'all? to not simply share your private research, to let us grow on it and learn it, to see what you have done, to se how something works, how can you not let us have  taste of all of this hidden information? To me and ik a good bit of people the rules are not applying as it's not leeching when you are simply sharing... but when this site is dedicated to each other.. how do you expect us.. to even try to learn or to even mod at that, ik its not really a expectation,   but just take this all into mind, and please think about it. im not ranting... i just dont understand and it bothers me alot...

You also do realize that releasing stuff taken from PNet is illegal and would get us in severe trouble, right?

Isn't having anything from pnet illegal anyway, just out of curiosity. isnt it illegal to even be connected considering nobody here is a dev, that has *rightfull* owner ship of a *legit* dev kit. isnt that illegal, isnt it illegal for any of us to have access to that content in the first hand.

I'm assuming this is at least partially because I told you my Flood armor is private.

 

It's really not that big of a deal that I'm keeping it to myself. It's for the best, anyway.

No this isnt about just only that. only reason why the flood armour bothers me is because i spent countless hours trying to get flood armour yet not only that days at a time of editing  and trying to find flood hex, binary all of that,, then i see you..the first person ever to have that, thats what bothered me about that,. but other then that its cool i guess.

I would just be happy that someone has "it". I would say the majority of things kept private wouldn't necessarily increase your learning and progression. Its mainly builds or things that person has spent the time to do the research and accomplish what they wanted. If you are talking about Pnet related things wait 1 year when no one at Microsoft cares about xbox 360 related content.

ive been a member for about a year and seen things come and go but when things are keept away then y have sed anything when things are secretly hidden away we will break away i speak for all when i say this but we need to know what is going on inside the box. we wont to know we need to know. it dues int have to be much just somthing to keep us going.

There is nothing being kept private, If you want it figure out how to do it, and if you want someone to give you the information then tough luck.

Yeah. Flood thing could be used online (potentially), which is a bit damaging. And PNet content, be it betas or test maps, is really gray area to have in the first place, and really illegal to redistribute. 

 

Heck, lots of that content I just described isn't even pulled from PNet. Oftentimes peoples' "rare" content will come from a friend-of-a-friend sort of deal, where you'd essentially be screwing yourself (and your friend, depending) by releasing trusted stuff. Betas, recoveries, and XDK releases tend to be like this.
