Some Quick Xdk Questions

6 posts in this topic

Sorry if this is in the wrong section or just useless.(Or if I sound like an idiot)

Question 1. What benefits does an XDK on different dashes have? Does it matter what dash revision it's on?

Question 2. Does running an RGH on an XDK kernel have any limits other then not having the graphics and ram extensions of a real XDK?

Question 3. This isn't XDK related but how would one poke change thier name in Reach? (it's been bugging me all day.)

I will answer these to the best of my knowledge.

1. Higher dash allows newer games to be played. Other than that and be able to switch to an older dash not much.

2. Only devs I know to have any mass ram improvements are XNA Kits and the new slim xdks. Even this doesn't do much on the side of performance. 360 has 512mb of ram to begin with so not much more. To answer your question no it doesn't have any limits other than not being able to create gamertags I think? (from within xshell)

3. Going have to ask someone else for that one...

Again others please add to what ive said if you believe me to be wrong.

Drachir pretty much answered these pretty clearly.

As for the poking, there are a few tools floating around for a gamertag changer. however, you can look fro the address in XAM and poke it that way. Its been a while since I looked into it, but there are plenty of references on the web to look at to find the correct offset.
