General
Need Some Html Help

10 posts in this topic

so i know html but the one thing in html that i could never find out is setting a value, but i do in c# and vb for example in vb

loading a setting:

If My.Settings.Theme = 0 Then
            KryptonManager1.KryptonManager1.GlobalPaletteMode = ComponentFactory.Krypton.Toolkit.PaletteModeManager.Office2010Black
        End If

saving a setting:
 If KryptonRadioButton4.Checked = True Then
            Form1.KryptonManager1.GlobalPaletteMode = ComponentFactory.Krypton.Toolkit.PaletteModeManager.Office2010Black
            My.Settings.Theme = 0
        End If

so what i am asking is how do u save a value in html and load a value in html
i dont know how to do this in html any help would be appreciated

Could you be a bit more specific as to what you're trying to accomplish? HTML doesn't have the concept of "variables" or "settings" in it because it's a markup language. Chances are you might need JavaScript or some form of server-side scripting in order to do what you want.

ok cause i was getting into making extensions for chrome and i was just wanting the settings to be able to control the height and width of the iframe

so i was thinking something like when the settings are saved it saves two different settings for the iframe height and width like

iframe src="URL" width="width setting" height="height setting"  /iframe

any thoughts on how i would do that?

I beleive that it is like this: <iframe src="http://google.com" style="height:32px;width:52px;></iframe>

You need to use JavaScript. First of all, learn the language if you don't know it already, and then search around for information on Chrome's extension APIs. The chrome.storage API looks like it might be what you need.

Yup you need to look up javascript :)

It may be worth your time looking into using jQuery aswell, it can be really useful :D

Good luck with your extensions
