This Site Shout Box Glitch What?

Yes iv had problems with the shoutbox... 

 

it doesnt say im banned from the shoutbox..

 

but anytime i shout anything it doesnt show up.. i need a solution

It does that all the time for me, or posts things that aren't even in the input box anymore instead of what I typed.

 

I usually have to click on the shoutbox link and type from there, and refresh when it stops letting me post or starts glitching.

That's odd, because the main shoutbox page is where the repeating problems happen for me.

The mini one in the header has never given me issues.

Weird, it usually happens to me on the main portal. Other stuff glitches everywhere, but not being able to post usually only happens for me in the header version. I guess it's just buggy in general.

Try clearing your cache.

We actually do have plans to re-code it but we're busy with another project at the moment.

I really don't see how people have problems with it. I've used chrome, Firefox, safari (on both Mac and iOS) and opera for iOS (a terrible browser) and I've never had a problem.

I really wonder what causes your issues. I can't replicate so it would be very hard to fix.

Okay, some things to check:

• Make sure you are NOT connecting through HTTPS. Connecting through HTTPS causes problems with JavaScript. Use regular HTTP instead.
• Try disabling all of your browser extensions to see if one of them might be causing a conflict.
• Make sure you have JavaScript enabled.

I've also been experiencing issues with the Shoutbox. I've tried everything I can think of (using different browsers, clearing cache, etc.)

i dont use plugins because they are not needed, for now manually putting http://  is working for me.

You know, I might know what it is.  You and Mohawk are the only two people I see posting in this thread with IPv6.  I wonder if that could be related.

Disabled IPv6 and it is now working. Good call!

huh? last i checked my laptop uses ipv4 not 6.

 

well i unchecked ipv6 from my wifi, and now i can use shoutbox, i dont see how it never was a problem before but hey it fixed it, so wooo, and ipv6 isnt even really used is it?

I don't understand how it was causing an issue either.  Maybe some other site resources are on v4 only servers.  We use a CDN so you may have not been loading the page correctly.
