This Site Sb Question And Is This Site Dead?

Well I do not even have a tab to chat in the sb so do you all have the sb locked or something? Also this site seems kinda dead it has the coolest layout and badges I give that a 10/10 the name is dope weed thats a 8/10 but it seems dead like I said.  I would like to make it more active but I dont wanna work my butt off getting people to sign up and then its still dead so could I hit up the ower to work out a deal or something?

We don't like to think of it as dead.  This site is more or less here as an overhead on various halo related modding projects.  For example, Liberty and Assembly were by this site's staff.  The lack of posting that you see saddens me as well, but it's more because no one really mods halo anymore.  Stupid aimbots and gpd modding seem to have taken over the scene nowadays.  Shoutbox has a 5 post minimum requirement to prevent people from using this site one time for support in the shoutbox.

 

Anyways, did you have an idea (I am the owner)?

Lol.  I've been look to restructure for a while now.  Peaches, you have the same issues that I have as well.  Problem more or less seems to be rooted in the audience.

To me the site isnt dead, seems to me like a good bit of people are busy with assembly or just any halo modding project in genearl, i would be very active but iv been busy modding other games, and ik skate is active hes busy on mods like everyday so it seems, and i love playing link with him lol, and again this site seems more like a family more then anything, im happy this site is still up, however i would also like to see some good active post, like the wip section tut section even showcase mod section, those seem to be the most active, yet that even the download section is active *more for leechers* but oh well, me persoanlly im a halo savegame modder jtag to retail save game maker.. so iv been busy with that i have like 6-7 + halo saves to be released, but i only release those when its feel needed, however as far as patches go, im not that good with it and i dont like spending my time on it lol, to me its too time consuming for me, however i love to see what the commuinity comes up with, im not gonna lie iv made basic patch mods like proj swaps, color swaps, bitmap/texture swaps but thats the most of my ability to mod in the .map, ik i cna learn more and do better, but iv forgot alot of stuff... and iv also learned alot, however for reach ik i can mod a .map to hell and back lol, all those colors projectiles, weapon making bascially lol, vehcile making basically, ik i can do that if i went back and researched again, but like i said its too time consuming for me, however nicew to meet youa nd have a good time on the site, help to the best of your knowledge and if you ever need anything just pm me, also try to learn some new tricks why ur here especially for halo!! halo modding  needs to come back to life, for example... iv havent really seen any halo 4 .map mods even released besides the ufo mod...

I'll admit I don't come here very much anymore. I've kind of moved on from Xbox entirely. It was great fun and I learned a lot. To me this site will never die. It's the only place I know of that the Halo modding cummunity can call home.

Naaa, it isn't dead. Its just that its a small community that mods Halo these days and thats the focus here, Halo modding. I have no doubt if the site started to branch out into thing like COD or whatever else is being modded these days that the community would grow, but thats not what everyone here is about. Everyone here is about fun modding or producing tools to create fun modding. Also, most other large scale console modding scenes are mainly for the cheating side of modding. Which is surely not what xboxchaos is about. This site will always be the best community no matter how small.

We aren't Halo *only* but that's what many users are here for.

The Skyrim section here for example is somewhat popular with PC conversions.

I like the fact that this site has less members because we are all a family we get to know eachother and share our knowledge and plus the topics aren't buried behind a bunch of cluttered pages so it makes it easier to find what you are looking for. we also dont flaunt our research like kids on ttg and s7.

If I break into someone's house to steal something and then say "I didn't know it was illegal," does that make it right? Yes, we could make the rules more visible, but not reading the rules is no excuse for poor behavior.

It's a creative modding site. Creative modding does not include cheating.

I can agree with you there. Although cheating is not very welcome here to be honest, people were rather harsh.

Just remember that we as a site do not have control over what people say. I would encourage people to be a little nicer in the future, but we can only do so much to moderate people's actions.

I'm going to add my own thoughts here just because I can ( sorry AMD). The reason that I had a brutal response was because most likely a larger flame war could have started. This is why I closed that topic. However, with existence of a shoutbox, I feel there could have been more flaming there. My response however, did not seem professional. I personally wasn't having a good day. Wasn't really a justification. I'm now on vacation, but if any staff wants to reverse my suspension, I'm all for it.
