Halo .map Mod Not Working

17 posts in this topic

I tried to start a modified forge world map but then is said disk unreadable. I did everything right and put a modified xex file into the halo reach folder. Then i applied the patch to the map using ascension.

Make sure your xex that you've modified has all checks removed.

you need to provide more info. What map are you trying to load? where did you get the modified xex?

I got it all to work but then when i tried to load the map it says players failed to load content. I have disabled contpatch i was using the one from digiex Some maps worked such as stormy cartographer but that map was the only one that worked for some reason.

Did you place both .blf's into the images folder? and the .mapinfo inside the info folder? if you aren't getting these files after you patch the map you need to check the "Hell Yeah" checkbox under patch extras in assembly.

I was trying to put custom maps into my halo reach folder  But only stormy cartographer works. I tried blizzard but it said players failed to load. Warfare mod loads properly but when it starts the dirty disk error appears. Stormy cartographer worked like a charm though.

Also make sure you have your clean .map somewhere so when you patch it you change the modified .map destination somewhere else so you keep your stuff all organised.

I'm suffering from the same issue, some maps give me the 'dirty disk' error.

Does anyone know what causes this because my xex is good and contpatch is disabled?

Only happens on some maps.

Anyone know why the warfare mod does not work? I did not replace forge world with it. I had a mapinfo file and images for it.

Have you tried getting clean maps off the disk and repatching them?

I'm not sure what the problem is as blizzard worked for me, but some others don't?

When I try to load storm_halo.map, the disk is unreadable.  I placed all the files in their correct locations, but it still says; Disk is Unreadable.
