Zedd already knows about it now, it was the original way I got stuff from campaign.map also. (2 Months ago, heh.)

Awesome tutorial. Glad after years its finally been done.

 

1: I successfully got a brute helmet onto Forgeworld, but I wanted to try something else so I did the GRD Doll from The installation 04 Firefight map, and did everything exactly the same, when I tried to load the map, it gave me a "disc unreadable" message.

 

Then i tried a coffee cup from 20_courtyard, same map as the brute helmet. I got a disc unreadable message again.

 

2: I then tried a bugger from m70, and gave it a reflection test animation in the hlmt and such, but the game crashes when I tried to spawn it, so I removed its animation and tried ti again, but now it was invisible and I couldnt see the model.

 

So is their any help I could get? Does it have something to do with the object names? As for the coffee cup, it has the name of "crouch:pistol:turn_left_fast" which seems odd?

 

Anyways, any help would be awesome.

as for the coffee cup and the GRD doll, i would think those to be local to the map so they don't exist in the campaign.map which is why its failing to read. you should check to see where the assets you are trying to load from since if they are local it wont work. they need to be in the campaign.map or shared.map

It can already be done, zedds pillar of autumn is an example of it.

 

And no, I'm not going to do any "quickie" tutorials as this results in way to many fucking questions from people. Going in depth is the only way of getting it across to people who then go on to create awesome stuff. There is plenty examples of this happening right now.

When injection first was a thing a few months ago AMD made some kind of tool that dumps a list for all the maps. I however can't find it anywhere so Elijah sent me one he had.

Its called shareddump, it should be included with Assembly.

Also another thing to note is that in halo 3 you will not need to pre-load a SP map, mainmenu loads campaign.map at the very start so just jump into your modded map and enjoy.

Hey, So im having a problem with some of the objects i am adding onto the map. The objects are invisible. I have tried it with the engineer, Pelican and a few others and each time the object is just invisible. Any help would be appreciated.

invisible tends to be an incorrect hlmt or something with jmad.

...or you forgot to add shaders.

Ok, So i tried to add in the HLMT tag, that didnt go well. tried adding in the objects original Jmad, that didnt do anything to help, I tried using the Reflection test Jmad, that just froze my game.

... And im sure i have my shaders placed.

Here it is, basic tag injection. From campaign.map!

 

This tutorial covers how to do basic tag injection - in this case the [mode]brute_helmet into forge world. Start with basic stuff. Get this down and you'll be on your way to having hunter AI wars and moonwalking grunts.
