.MAP How To Install Halo 3 Modded [.maps] On A Jtag With A Usb

Ok, I haven't seen a tutorial about this yet on here so here it is!

Things needed:

USB flash drive [1 GIG]

JTAG modified Xbox

Halo 3 installed to the HDD [Multiplayer disc works]

A concshell [lol jk]

Alteration

NOTE: Cannot get maps off the HDD, must download them from Here

1. Mod your .map file in alteration. There are plenty tutorials. So if you want, you can go look at them and come back, if not, move down the next step.

[OPTIONAL] 2. We are going to do a quick mod, e.x. Aussult rifle shoots tripmines.

First, go down to the [WEAP] tag and select the assult rifle and click EDITORS and the top and select META EDITOR. Go down all the way to the bottom and youll find where it says proj: aussult rifle bullet. Click on the drop down box that says "proj" and scroll UP to [EQUIP] tag. Then on the second drop down box, where it show the bullet. Select Tripmine, NOT tripmine_equipment.

3. Now that your done with that, input the USB flash drive into your computer. A window should pop up and select "Open folder". Now drag your modded map from where ever you saved it, into your USB flash drive's folder.

4. Now turn on your xbox and go to your XeXmenu. Then put the USB flash drive in your xbox. Press RB and it should emmediatly direct to the USB's folder. Go to your modded map and press "Y" and select "Copy". Then Go to your "Maps" folder where you installed your halo 3 disc and press Y agian. And select "Paste". Once it's done pasting your GOOD TO GO! This is also a SAFER way to do this. Xport/Xsata/Transfer Cables can wipe your HDD Clean. It happened to me TWICE.

I have my entire halo 3 disk on my 16gb usb... I just mod them right off the usb! Good tutorial though!

hey so is it possible to do this without a jtag box? like put modded maps on it via usb on a normal unaltered elite.

any person who has used xex menu and has a whip of sense can figure this out but GOOD TUTORIAL FOR THE NOOBIES!

Ive been doing this since my first .map mod lol i never had a transfer cable or any stupid thing like that and also for people who dont use their minds its good to back up the .map file Before u mod it because pretend ur on xlink kai (dont ask me) and someone has just hosted a game with a clean map (you wont be able to join) so u just copy the .map to ur usb and then to ur xbox (the clean one)

Just wanted to put that out there i have a folder specially set aside for those things.
