General can most cool mods be used online

Xlink simulates a system link connection. It's not actually Xbox Live. Yes, you can use that.

like i said am a complete noob to this i just wanted to ask questions learn some things from the professionals and do some stuff with xlink people cuz they can't online but still have a great time so to answer your question all i know is this xlink thing and that's it I hope you don't think any less of me because i don't know as much as everyone else in this community

Like what The404Spartan was getting at, you'll need a JTAG/RGH for anything you see in the forums that has the  (.map) prefix. Something with the (gametype) prefix, you can use on any console.

 

xLink Kai, which I believe you are talking about, is fairly outdated and not many people use that anymore. XBSLink is more widely used, but won't work if your computer is on WiFi. Those two are the only LAN simulators that I know of that would work for both retail and modded consoles.

thx for replying i think am understanding this but what about the navigation mod is stil xlink kai or is it now xbslink

tryed persuading my parents to get rid of the wi-fi for a short time failed badly still going to try i'll keep on posting hope everyone in the community and forum get along

If you are referring to this, that can only be used on a modded console (remember: .map prefix). That was just a main menu mod designed for modders who frequently used Xlink Kai (which was the most widely used LAN simulator when the mod was created)
