Modded Maps not Showing

12 posts in this topic

Hi everyone,

I patched the default xex of halo reach with the blue flames patch now I have 2 the default and the modded one, both in the root of halo reach folder. I patched forge_halo.map with the cranked patch and renamed it cranked_halo.map but when I start the game with the modded xex it wont show up in the maps list everything else works perfectly (armory with the helmets and the default maps) I also checked the contpatch on dashluch and its false. I don't know what else to do. Any help is appreciated (:

Extract the .mapinfo file that comes with the patch and place it in the info folder.

I can't find it the files you uploaded has only the cranked_v1.1.asmp

!! Hmm I'll have to look at that now. Sorry. In the mean time you could go into [scnr] and look at the map id and create a .mapinfo pointing it to that and naming the mapinfo to crank and it's map name in the editor to Cranked or something.

Added a download for the mapinfo on my video.

Some might not be on the sanbox pallet under "Wumbo" go into the [scnr] tag and fiddle with some things. Try to get involved with .map modding it's fun.

Hey man,

I know that this may be bumping an old topic, but i'm having the same problem as this guy.

I patch the map in assembly, and rename it to "cranked_halo.map", and FTP that over to my HDD, as well as the .mapinfo file.

Even after clearing the system cache, im getting a "loading fail" error.

I can run the pelican spire mod just fine, and i do have a modded .xex, so have you got any advice?

*As a quick sidenote; When patching the map in assembly, im given the oppurtunity to create mapinfo files and .BLF files. I ignored those, was i supposed to?

Cheers!

I've removed the mapinfo link, so scrap the seperate mapinfo download. I honestly don't know why I made that. I didn't realize I had it built into the patch!. You will need to go into the map patch tool again and extract the mapinfo and the blf files. Place the blf files into the images folder located in the maps folder. Place the mapinfo file into the info folder located in the maps folder as well.

The map ids and names in the mapinfo appear to be correct so that isn't a problem.

If it still gives you a read error I'll load it up on my 360 tomorrow and see if I get the same problem.

if you still have the same problem i'll link you a working xex that loads modded maps.

This topic is a little over 2 years old. Also linking to a xex publicly on this site is a no no.
