Jasper Identification Help

10 posts in this topic

So im trying to help ruderalis with his nand and he has a jasper motherboard but cant figure out his nand size because he cant turn on his console except for xell

How to normally id it:

If there is no memory unit shown there, then it is a 16MB NAND. If there is a Memory Unit shown there, then if the capacity is shown to be 214MB then its a 256MB NAND and if the capacity is shown to be 451MB, then the nand is have 512MB NAND.

Any Ideas of how to ID the nand size?

You could try to write large blocks of garbage to the console of different sizes.  Then just try to read them back.  If it can be read, you know the nand is at least that size.  Of course, you need an actual nand flasher.

Thanks so much for your efforts bfixer.. i really hope i can get this revived.. i honestly don't care if you end up guessing the nand size, an attempt at revival is all that matters to me.

What's the MFR date on your jasper?

That's fairly close to the Slim production. If production goes from SB to BB to support later dashboards I'm taking a guess that it's a Jasper BB. If that's the case you can find a donor nand. (I think I have a bb jasper nand on my laptop) Or you can search for a BB donor and update it through J-Runner to one of the latest dashes after the CB split.

Your probably right. I honestly wouldn't know what to do. And bfixer offered to help me with it. And if everything goes smooth I'm going to try and donate to him for his efforts.

My RGH is a 256MB Jasper BB, I could donate a copy of my NAND if the console is the same type.

He'll have to change it to split CB since he's running on RGH2.
