How to Rip / Backup Xbox 360 Games

What you will need

An opened Xbox 360, must be flashed with Ixtreme v1.61
A sata-sata cable, you will have this if you have flashed your xbox via sata cable
Xbox power cable and AV cables, you dont need to plug the AV cables into anything other than you xbox, its just so that the xbox doesnt get 4 lights and turn off half-way through ripping
The Game that you want to copy, I am using Just Cause 2 that I have borrowed off of a friend to copy
Schtrom 360 Xtract v4.1 Download Here

The first thing you will want to do is find the sata port on your computer and plug in one end of the sata cable into their. (You should have purchased a chip with a sata port on it if you have already flashed your xbox.

Next locate a small black cable at the back of your Xbox 360's drive. This is another sata cable. Unplug this.

Now plug the other end of the sata cable which is in your computer, into this space in the back of the drive.

Now plug in your xbox 360 power cable and AV cable.

Ok, now we have it all setup, here is where we use the unique ability of Ixtreme v1.61 firmware (or later), which is why we need our drive flashed with this firmware.
We are going to use its windowed mode ability.
First press the open drive button, this will turn the xbox 360 on and open its drive. (Make sure you press the drive open button and not the 360's power button.)

Now press the power button with the drive still open, this wil close the drive. When the drive is half-way shut, hold it so it cannot close fully, it will the stop pulling in and try and open, but make sure it stays half-open. The 360 will eventually give up and turn off and you will be left with a turned-off 360 with a half-open drive like below.

Now turn the 360 on with the power button, the drive will close.
Wait a few seconds and your computer will recognize the 360's drive! Remember the drives letter. My drive letter was H:

Now open the drive and put the game that you want to rip in.

Open Schtrom360Xtract v4.1 and select the Xbox360's drive in the drop-down box. My drive letter was H:

Now select the directory where you will save the image.

Now press "Extract" and you are done!

Dont forget that you need a flashed dvd drive to play the game! And dont forget to plug the black cable back into the back of the dvd drive!

Nah this is for retail 360s which have had the dvd drive flashed to play ripped games for free. XeX Menu wont work cuz its not for JTAG's.
