General Halo Reach Installing Mods Detailed Step By Step

A more detailed Halo reach Mod installation guide

 

Setting it up

 

 

1. You must have: XexMenu for running xex`s and etc.(I cannot provide links to these as it is considered warez)

                             A ripped version of Halo Reach on your hdd (i will tell you how to do this)

                              The .asmp or .map of your mod.

                               Assembly (Depends whether the mod is .asmp, in that case get assembly.)

Steps

Ripping Halo Reach

1. Get XexMenu, make sure your Halo Reach disc is in the console

2. Make a folder where you can place the copied halo reach

3.Go inside the folder, press Y then CopyDVD.

4.Be patient!

The Mod installation!

Scenario A (Continue reading if the mod is .asmp, if not skip to Scenario 2)

1. While on XexMenu, locate the folder maps in the copied halo reach then copy the .map which is for the map mod e.g Forge World Mindpowers V2, in that case we will take forge_halo.map

2. Transfer it to your via USB stick, FTP or whatever. NOTE:If on usb, copy the map on it via xexmenu and make sure its not configured!

3.When on the computer, open the usb via windows explorer and copy the .map somewhere.

4.Open assembly go to. Tools>Map Patcher.

5.Scroll to apply a patch then the input map should be the .map, the patch has to be the .asmp and lastly choose a location for the output map then apply the patch. Wait for sometime touching assembly will cause it to crash...trust me..it does!

6.Take the output map then place it on the usb.

Finishing this tedious process and move on to fun!

1.Copy the .map to your *copied* halo reach folder in maps. Replace it if xexmenu asks.

2.Make sure you have a backup of the original forge_halo.map, if not PM me.

3. As you should have the modified default.xex on your computer, transfer it over tothe halo reach folder and replace it with the original default.xex *AGAIN REMEMBER TO BACKUP ANYTHING YOU REPLACE!*.

4. Now launch the default.xex by pressing A on it, find your map in-game and enjoy!

Scenario B (Lucky you that you have the .map file as a mod!)

1. Check ripping Halo Reach sub-tutorial up this post in Scenario A and follow it.

2. Get a usb that is not configured.

3. Paste the modded .map on it. If it has .mapinfo and .blf paste them as well.

4. Go back on your xbox.

Finishing this tedious process and move on to fun!

1.Copy the .map to your *copied* halo reach folder in maps. Replace it if xexmenu asks.

1b. Copy the .mapinfo in the mapinfo folder and replace.

1c. Copy both .blf files one by one and replace them in images folder.

2.Make sure you have a backup of the original forge_halo.map,.map info and .blf`s. If not PM me.

3. As you should have the modified default.xex on your computer, transfer it over to the halo reach folder and replace it with the original default.xex *AGAIN REMEMBER TO BACKUP ANYTHING YOU REPLACE!*.

4. Now launch the default.xex by pressing A on it, find your map in-game and enjoy!
