I envy you all getting to play it right now. ;( never had a chance in getting it pre-ordered. ;( Plus no moolah, oh well.

Make it offline as well.

With the way it is set-up and as big it is, I could be wrong but I don't think offline woul work well with it, as it would use a lot of storage. Hence being an online only game. Maybe on the xbox one could handle it, but the 360 I don't think it could, unless it was a homebrew or jtag.

Not really sure what you mean by "it would use a lot of storage." The map files and everything are on your disc/HDD already, all that would need to be done is to disable the online functionality of the game. Even if the game relied on scripts from the server, they wouldn't take up that much space.

I honestly don't know what's so special about it, granted I haven't played it I just think it's overhyped because it was made by Bungie, and it seems that they haven't entirely pulled away from Halo with a little of their designs.

I mean: http://www.destinypedia.com/Stealth_Vandal and http://www.halopedia.org/Zealot do they not seem similar to you?

I use the word "designs" as a substitute for a word/phrase that I can not remember for the life of me, not character design.

Well, i was being different and just saying storage like everyone else would say from pc bedevilers. That is there excuse for explaing why pc 1.8.8 version minecraft can't be on console so I'd assume destiny gamewould be so heavy in gfx & coding program, it would be hard to do offline. Oh well. I just know there is a reason forit to be online only, maybe the bungie wanted an online only game, you never really know. Edited by Cosmic lightning

Shit i remember my first coding program was huge. I actually had to buy a second writing hdd drive to use it.

Because its the coding program the bungie deserves, but not the one they need right now.

Not sure if troll or not, pretty sure it's a troll, too tired to know definitively.

Destiny is not that great. I have played it all day and feel it failed as a mmo. weapons and amount to do is very little and alot of the same battles happen again and again 4/10.

Improvements are to many to list.

Improvements are to many to list.

1st: You find all golden chests

2nd: You level to Max on all classes

3rd: You completed the whole story

4th: You find all the easter eggs & other hidden stuff

5th: Find any glitches & show them off

6th: Repeat with the other two classes

7th: Fight multi-player

If you done all of those in one day, than I give you props & tell you were the king of gaming. So you have no excuse to say amount to do is very little. Also weapons/armor s'pose to be weak as you are s'posed to go hunting for stronger weapons. In beta I had a full auto-rifle at 62 as I found the thing in an engram.

All of those but the 3rd and 7th points involve either grinding (e.g. leveling up) or brute-forcing (e.g. finding glitches). Not everyone cares to do that (I sure don't). Saying there isn't enough to do in a game is certainly a valid criticism. If the game expects you to waste time grinding or randomly searching for glitches in order to enjoy it, then it has failed as a game. Nobody buys a game because there are easter eggs or glitches in it - those should be found through naturally enjoying it.

I was just stating you shouldn't get bored from a game that came out in just a day. I know I'd be trying to beat the story even though I'd be spending days and days on doing that

I do realize 3 & 7 is not valid criticism, but if you claim you have nothing to do, than you are wrong.

i want to like destiny....i do....the problem is i can see what EXACTLY the areas that activision did and the areas that bungie did.

The visuals are obviously bungie, the music is obviously bungie, the "CRUCIBLE" is obviously bungie maps...but Obviously activision in terms of COD gameplay.

It is what i feared.

"You got COD in my halo....you got halo in my cod...."

But it wasn't meant to be halo if you think about it but I see your point. It was meant to be a whole new game. When I did play beta, it felt to me more like MW2 in terms of upgrading, which was the only cod game I liked. Oh well, I'm gonna enjoy the scenery, that isone thing I always loved about bungie.

They do have a 10 yr plan, so it could get better through TU's.

I would say this game is decent.  It doesn't do any one part best, but it seems to have several aspects of several different games.  I have a feeling it could get better long term.

I think the games missing something, it could be the fact that it's not rated "M", it's missing the feeling of atmosphere - like that part where you find the hive, if there was blood on the ground and corpses that would add more depth and a whole new "scary" factor.

I don't have it as I spent all my money pre ordering Halo MCC but I hear its actually really repetitive. I heard pretty much every mission is like get here, hold off enemies, and then go here and kill the boss.

That makes me worry about getting Destiny.

Right now since I'm poor I made like 15 Bing Rewards accounts and I'm going to get $5 Xbox codes so I can get the 360 version and then get the upgrade free for the XB1.

Sad that you have to have gold to play it. I wonder if its possible to setup a proxy and locally host a server, doubt you could do it but would certainly be cool if you could.

Yeah, I probably won't ever get to play it unless it comes to PC or someone figures out how to get it working offline on a modded console. I can't justify paying for Gold when I hardly use my Xbox anymore.

That said, I don't really feel like I'm missing out on much to begin with.

Ah does it on 360? I couldn't find any info on it anywhere. How limited is it compared to playing with Gold?

Its just like playing any single player game. Live required for any interaction with other players id assume. Just need a live account to connect to the Bungie servers.

I find Destiny's gameplay to be pretty stale. It's so repetitive. There's no incentive to explore or do "side quests" that are really just minigames besides those Vangaurd points or whatever. The only fun part was The crucible, but idk how long that's going to last seeing as they didn't implement any equivalent to forge and custom games.

I also agree with Lehvak. Destiny lacks a lot of atmosphere due to it being rated T. You never find anything that makes you say "Damn, the Hive are fucked up creatures." like the flood did. When I heard this would take place in an old abandoned earth, I pictured something like in Fallout 3, where practically any building you can enter has a story. In Destiny all you find in buildings and caves are those stupid chests that give you some random piece of armor or money.

I honestly expected more form Bungie.
