Is there any way to watch the theater with out having to poke it every time with assembly after poking it in the game play? or any way to get the videos off the HDD and play them on the pc or anything like that?

They cannot play on PC unless you record it with an external device like a capture card. The reason is that the way theater works is using game code to recreate the situations in the map. It's like loading a forge map, it loads the map, then the code that tells the game where all the pieces are. In theater the map is loading just like campaign or forge then receives the code telling everything where to go and what to do. Not sure why halo 4 doesn't have campaign theater though, someone else here could probably tell you why.

You can always save the changes to the .map. That will save you from having to poke while playing the film.

Cheers dude got it sorted. Is there a way to find out what i previously poked in the game to watch the theater prior to the .map save? cause i am pokeing to what i thought was it but the video keeps crashing like i didnt poke it with the right things

So if i were to say poke it and save the .map then  load that .map as the theater video would that play with out crashing or does the poke have to be perfect after the original poke?

Any pokes would have to be redone before the change happens in the film.

If you poke something then save the map chances are it will still error because there was a point in the film where what you edited was normal and the film would want normal.

 

So basically your old film is useless. Any changes you want to work in a film would have to be saved before even starting the map ingame and then not poking anything.
