need help with velocity on mac

I'm trying to download minecraft maps for my xbox 360 on my mac laptop but when i click on raw devices on, it doesn't detect my usb but yet my usb pops up on the desktop. i am in desperate need of some help, ive been at it for hours and i don't know what to do, please somebody help me!! :(
