Pathfinding for AI

So i was wondering if i could just inject a BSP from a campaign map, and the pathfinding would work for AI?

 

Because im researching AI in Halo Reach and i can get Elites to shoot and hit me with a sword (if i get close to them)

 

BUT. They just dont move. And swapping animations from idle to move looks horrible.

 

So is this possible? Or is it a dream... yet to come true..

Increase the melee chance and range for the AI and they should walk towards you and other enemies they see, if that is what you are after. This is not like the swapping method.

Oh ok thanks Zedd and Dark Universe.

Ill try the BSP injection but, one question, is there anything particular in the BSP that i can inject? Im using m10.map

 

And Dark Universe ill try increasing the range. It might work thanks!

Honestly, good luck if you are trying to do this on Reach, as I don't believe BSP injection is perfect yet there. You are probably limited to the first BSPs if anything.

Ok Zedd i actually got pathfinding to work!!! The BSP is a bit broken, but i only injected it for the pathfinding! And it worked!!

 

I removed every shader from it though, i think its just the structure mesh thats left for the AI

 

They actually act intelligent and its difficult to kill them now. (i put their skills at legendary)

 

Thanks alot! Oh and Dark Universe's trick helped alot as well!
