General
Halo 4 Network Test -- Patch to play?

29 posts in this topic

Hey all, decided I wanted to try out the Halo 4 Network Test beta that leaked on my XDK, but rather obviously that requires an Xbox LIVE connection and on an XDK that simply isn't possible. So I was wondering, much like the Halo 3 and Halo Reach betas, is there a patch of some kind that bypasses the requirements of an Xbox LIVE account and such?

I've heard of this ArchLoader, but I have no idea how to install it on my XDK. If anyone could give a little guidance on that, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

xdk*

also you need to compile the archlauncher and than drop the xexs into the game folder,

or you can google the pre compiled xexs.

I have both the ArchLauncher and ArchEngine .XEX, but when launching either one of them from the XDK I get an error stating the game cannot be played?

silly stipo.

you might be missing a xex; If I recall archlauncher has 3 you need in the game directory, or it's an issue with the xex's them selfs.

There's only 2 which the compiler throws into the build folder when complete.

Archloader is supposed to do that, after that go launch Halo 4 Network Test and it'll work.

How'd you get this thing working on a DevKit? To get the game to run at all I use xextool to remove revocation check and media limit then flag to dev but when I run ArchLauncher it crashes at trying to load the game

If I run the game on its own it will load but obviously I can't do anything.

I got the build from a mediafire link posted by "BananaSwag" from betaarchive, It had ArchLoader already included but IDK.

BTW If Lord Zedd reads this, I don't suppose it might be possible to get that menu on the final is there? Its much better IMHO.

Thanks fate6, this patch worked perfectly on my XDK!

Did you go in and enable the Midnight menu? Or is that default on the beta?

if assembly can open the mainmenu.map, then i don't see why not

Wouldn't the plugin be similar to the retail build? Well close to it at least.

most likely, but you would need to pinpoint ALL of the differences before it would work. from what i know (i rarely look at format xml) they mainly rely on offsets for different parts and thats it.

edit: if i had the mainmenu.map for this build then i would try, but i dont

What menu would that be? If you just mean being able to choose options, that's just how Arch does their thing.

And Assembly can open the maps, just the definitions/plugins were stripped out for its release.

The formats and plug in are what is being talked about

I meant change the layout of the menu and change its background.

See the Forge menu is pretty much the Reach one and frankly I personally think its a better menu design then the card thing 343i did, That and the background of the planet and ring is better then the wreckage that's in the final.

So the question becomes this, Is it possible to change the Halo 4 menus to resemble the Reach or Halo 3 ones and is it possible to change the background of the main menu?

EDIT: Have a Screenshot of the Forge menu!

Background is bsp/sky which isn't going to happen, the reach menus are there if you really want to change them in wgtz.

Is there a way to enable the menu seen in this

of the Network Test? With the .XEX's from fate6, I'm getting the Midnight menu by default, which is a little broken :P

Well the last time I heard, there was an .xex that basically fixed the menu. I would like to have the working menu instead. If that's possible. Edited by Chrisan8er
