How to change an object's colour? (Not bit-map replacement)

6 posts in this topic

I've seen many MAP mods in which some objects (weapons and vehicles included) have their colours changed.

I know they aren't bit-map mods because said MAP mods were created before it even existed.

How do I do that? I don't think it is harder than bit-map replacements.

Go to the [mode] tag and there is a shader drop box for the object you want to change the shader. You can't choose a specific solid color.

Oh, that's boring, I thought I could do a green screen easier when doing that.

But well, thanks for the help.

I know your title may contradict what I'm about to say but if you want a green screen you can inject a green bitmap into the .map with the help of this tutorial.

I already tried that, long ago. Everytime I did what the tutorial says resulted in a fatal failure.

That's why I asked for another way, and I thought it could be easier to just replace the color without the need of replacing the bit-map.

I even posted in that thread showing the bug, which was always the same no matter what. Another possible result was just a crash.

Thanks for the help, but I just can't do it that way. Sorry.
