General Halo 3 Coming To Steam *code For Halo 3 Found In Drivers Update*

There's a post about it on Neogaf Apparently they found a bunch of new entries for Steam, and Halo 3 was among them.

 

 

They page for Halo 3 was recently taken down by Valve, but the Google Cached Page for it is still available.

 

What do you guys think of this?

 

EDIT: A new driver update has code that mentions Halo 3 and a Halo3.exe

Halo combat evolved, halo 2, and halo 3 are in the list of games for steam. And I can only hope a hek also comes with it

Halo 3 pc? I thought there wont be one because 343i now owns the rights to Halo. I'm not sure though because Halo 3 is Bungie's game.

Microsoft has had the rights to the Halo IP since CE,  Bungie never had rights to H3. 343 Industries is a subdivision of the Microsoft Games division, so they don't "now own", they already owned it.

 

That's part of the reason they split from microsoft, and also why one of their requirements for partnering with Activision was that they would maintain full ownership of the new IP.

The chances of h3 coming to steam is very low. It is most likely posted as a placeholder.

This is how most placeholders work with developers. When a company has a game that is currently untitled. They would use any games name as a place holder for that said un-named game. Once that un-named game gets a name they overwrite the placeholder.

 

But I do hope for it to come to be, However from the looks of it. Its just a placeholder.

Halo 3 from M$ coming to Steam ? Ahahahahah unbelievable, i have the H2V shortcut on Steam to enable the Steam Browser... Some one can do that with any modding tool from Halo 3 or the X360 JTAG programs to add on Steam Library.

 

Don't believe on anything you guys read = )   

 

 

I hope that on day Halo 3 comes for PC, real cool game to mod 8D

It wasn't added by someone using a non-steam-game shortcut, that wouldn't show up. It was an official entry by Steam.

I was confused about that as well  but it means that 181 people that are in the group are currently playing a game, (in-game)(Not Halo 3).

 

Either that or Steam's got a crap load of beta testers, lol.

The maps are hardly codded, you cannot import tags for the PC version if one exists though...

Halo 2 Vista is badly decoded for "Us" modders can create a rebuild tool for SP maps...

Keep in mind, All games are made on the pc. There is a lot of games being tested on pc. Then later ported to a console. However, In some cases, games are tested on console instead of pc.

Im not too sure about which way halo was made, but if it was tested on pc for a short time, then there is a pc build. Just a bit if info tossed at ya, Im not 100% sure on the pic if its legit or not, but you can only hope lol.

More or less. There's a pretty high chance H3 was originally made on the Xbox 360 though.
