Can you walk us through everything you have tried so far?

ok first i extracted the halo reach disk to my hdd then I take map.island.30 (or what ever its called) and put it on a usb unconfigured then I take it to the pc and open assembly and add the patch and the maps after that I put it back in the halo reach folder. 

I do all this with freestyle an RGH and i use a modded default.xex

I'm assuming you're using this patch, right?

You'll need to name the output map "35_island_pelican.map". That goes in your 'maps' folder. You also need to transfer the .mapinfo that is included in the rar file to the 'maps\info' folder, and the two .blf files go in 'maps\images'. It's essential that you have the correct name for the map file itself, because the mapinfo file tells the game to look specifically for a file with that name.
