How did you get them injected? I'm having trouble.

go through each rmsh extracting them separately, if they have a imported rmt2 then change it for something of the same type (as in shader not contrail or anything like that)

no, the only warthog tag it uses is phmo, that's how I stopped the flying away.

if I can get it to change colors by team ill release a patch, but atm it doesn't even spawn via forge list.

This was my first go at trying to inject something following the tutorial, worked out pretty well. After this, I wanted to try something a little harder...

All the main tags are there and it is derivable. I had a few problems at first, but after a while and talking some with Zedd, I saw my errors and got it going. Pelicans of forge world is something I have always wanted to do haha :)

M jealous lol and Elijah can I have pelican map :P I'd have fun on that all day lol

At work right now, so I can't send it. It's fully functional, but needs a camera track tag (right now when driving it, the camera is inside of the pelican :s) also needs shaders and textures. Once that is all done I will release it. Planning on getting that all done tonight.

found out that you can extract the a proj tag with out nulling anything out worked for two different projectiles so far thats how i did the scarab gun and assault rifle with Anti-Air-Cannon_Round

This is how one would go about loading local content from other maps and/or ODST:

 

It's actually pretty simple, but limited. All you need to do is rename the original campaign.map to something different so it is out of the way, then rename the map (or a copy of the map) you want to pull assets from to campaign.map.

Extract/Inject as normal, but when all is done go into play and changed the cache index on the new raw pages to 2 instead of -1 (or whatever number they are if you are using an ODST cache). Look at an unmodified map to find where the new pages start if needed.

 

To open ODST maps you'll need this updated format file for Assembly: http://www.mediafire.com/download/816gegz3rnw8se3/inj_stuff.rar

The rar also includes a format file for the Reach Beta, as well as pretty lists of shared data for Halo3 , ODST, and Reach Beta.

 

File deleted, latest Assembly on github should be compatible, and a shared list can be found in my blog/ this link http://www.mediafire.com/download/q72zw282qjhidli/shared_lists.rar

 

The limits and potential issues aren't fully known yet (was gonna test more before posting but you know, people gotta get dat fame) but here is what I do know;

  • The tag layout between ODST and H3 is different, so you can't simply extract an entire family of tags for an object. Only MODE and included shaders have been tested so far and worked without extra adjustments.
  • H3/ODST to Reach/Beta import - Status unknown, would require adjusting the mode tag because of slight layout differences, zone/play may have changed slightly as well.
  • Reach Beta to Reach import - Went big with the DMR and I got black screen, haven't gotten to test further.. zone/play may have changed slightly as well.

Edit: Here is how to get as far as I am with regards to Forge in Lone Wolf:

  1. The multiplayer wgtz seems to be inject-able without issue, as is mulg after you clean out stuff like the multiplayer objects and weapon/vehicle/equipment blocks. Though I copied the addresses of the injected blocks to the existing empty mulg tag on the map.
  2. From there you can edit the mapinfo for your map to be multiplayer (00 00 00 4C) and load it up just as you've been with forge world; pop into firefight for a sec and back out.
  3. No need to remove scripts, just give the fuel tank scen object properties from whatever weapon and make the properties a spawn point.
  4. Set the forge biped in mulg to whatever biped and add stuff to the palette using whichever method you want. You can pick existing stuff up, but the forge menus themselves are broken for reasons I haven't looked into.

I can confirm a successful injection from H3 into reach. In the form of bitmaps that is.

 

Edit: just squezed a few extra minutes out of the dead falcon to load the map, only to be greeted with a fuzzy ass display. But the map DID load.
