Hello, once again Xbox Chaos! So much time has passed since I've been active that I suppose a new introduction post is in order! Well, I'm ozzycow54. I used to be really active on Xbox Chaos a long time ago, but then for some reason I kind of fell away from the modding scene. I literally haven't touched an Xbox that could run homebrew for like 3 or 4 years xP Hopefully, with the Xbox 720 coming out soon, there will be some new exploits that I could participate in. Anyways, my favorite game series is Halo (I loved to mod it too). Over the year that I've been absent from the community, I've been spending almost all of my time playing MineCraft. I learned Java specifically to code Bukkit plugins for a server I play on, and I guess that's what I've been doing with my time lately. I haven't been active on any other modding forums for awhile except this one. I've been looking around the forums and I see a lot of new users contributing to the community and that makes me happy. At this point in time, I have a broad span of knowledge about modding and am pretty good with GFX, so hopefully I'll be useful to the community again! Xbox Chaos has taught me a lot in the past and I'm sure it'll be the same now. Well, I suppose that's it! I hope some of you at least remember me?

Yeah I remember you Poizon!

Looks like you guys have been busy! Assembly is awesome!

Hey AMD! Yeah, it's pretty fun messing with the Bukkit API since there are almost endless possibilities

TUT BY OZZYCOW54 Downloads LIBERTY CAMPAIGN EDITOR by Xerax, AMD, Thunder, XenonDev {Kontrol}, and the rest of the team HERE REMEMBER TO UPDATE YOUR CURRENT LIBERTY!!! MODIO HERE Tutorial First of all, get your xbox 360 configured usb and plug it into your xbox 360. Navigate to System Settings and go into System Settings. Sorry for low quality, my capture card broke. Now select Memory and go to into your Hard Drive. Find Games and inside you should find Halo: Reach. Now go into there and find a file with your EXACT profile name. Select it and select move in the screen that comes up. Move it to your usb. Okay, now let's move on to the PC. Open up Modio with your usb plugged in. Click explore a device and click File. You should see a drop-down box with the option Open/Close Drive. Click it. Your screen should now look like this: Expand the Content folder, then the randomized numbers and letters folder, then the Halo: Reach folder, then in the Gamesaves folder, you should see a file named with randomized numbers and letters. This is your save. Drag that file to your desktop. Now for the fun part... BEGINNER TUTORIAL (PLEASE FOLLOW FIRST TO LEARN THE CONCEPT) Open up Liberty and it should look like this: If it doesn't have the Select Save file on your Computer option ticked, tick it and click next. If it does, just click next. On the window, click the open button. In the selection window that pops up navigate to the file on your desktop and open it. When it's done loading, click OK. I've blacked out my GT to prevent stalkers. You know who you are Click OK if that's your info. In the next window, you can make yourself (and the current vehicle you might be in) invincible! YAYZ! Just tick the only box there. The position data is where you are. We probably don't want to edit that for now. Click OK and on to the next window! This is my personal favorite just because I like to press a lot of buttons . Time to edit some weapons! Let's max everything to ensure we don't run out of ammo (or grenades) while kicking covenant ass! Click OK. We now move towards the end of my first tutorial Anyway, this window is pretty advanced for inexperienced people, so I'm not going do anything here to throw you off. But this is for editing individual tags in the save, allowing you to move items and other stuff like that. Click OK. The final editing window has one box that makes all currently loaded weapons have max ammo. Let's tick it! Click OK. Now we are at the last point of this tut. Liberty automatically rehashes and resigns the save, so all we have to do is put it back on the usb and to the xbox. Click OK to close Liberty. Now go back to your Modio window. Right click in the folder with your old save file in it, and click Insert File. Select your modded save on your Desktop and hit open. When it asks to replace it, click Yes. Alrighty then, time to put your save back on the xbox hard drive. Just put the usb in, go to System Settings, Memory, Games, Halo: Reach, and select the save named after your profile name. Select Move and move it to your Hard Drive. You are now ready to play your modded save! NEW UPDATED AND ADVANCED TUTORIAL With the new version of Liberty out, I decided to update my tut to show how to use the advanced and new features of Liberty. First, follow my tutorial of getting your save to your comp. Now open up Liberty and it should look like this: If it doesn't have the Select Save file on your Computer option ticked, tick it and click next. If it does, just click next. On the window, click the open button. In the selection window that pops up navigate to the file on your desktop and open it. When it's done loading, click OK. I've blacked out my GT to prevent stalkers. You know who you are Click OK if that's your info. Now, the new features in Liberty here allow us to switch our current biped (character) with any loaded biped at that checkpoint. In my save, no bipeds besides mine (Noble 6) are loaded. But that shouldn't stop you if you have some loaded. Open the drop-down box and switch Noble 6 with a new sexy biped. Anything you have loaded will do, whether it's covenant or Kat. You can also tick the box directly under the biped swapper, witch saves your current weapons to your new biped. There are also three boxes displaying your biped's X, Y, and Z coordinates. With these you can change the numbers to move you forward or back, up or down, or side-to-side. Extremely, or just a tid-bit by tweaking one number. Let's set all the coordinates' last numbers to 9, which will move you slightly in each direction (please make sure your in an open area before you do this so you don't collide with anything or fall off anything). The last new feature on the first page (other than the one about idents, which is used to help the devs of Liberty) is Noclip. This turns off physics and collision which means you can go through anything and certain controls and code in the save are disabled. You won't be able to move up or down if you enable this. It also disables the ability to complete the level, so only tick if you just want to play around. Click OK to move on. This window is covered in the old tutorial and has no new features, so click OK again. The new features here allow you to edit bipd (character) and vehi (vehicle) child objects (children in Liberty) which are parts or items currently equipped to another item. Ex. A wraith turret. Some tags (bipd) are also named! A very helpful feature used to identify tags. Named tags are usually bipeds unless you've got ascension taglists (explained later) but unless you have those, most tags will be named after their .map ident. Now on to editing child objects and moving positions! These children coordinate edits are used to play around in the save, not as much to cheat or gain an advantage. More about child objects: Each child object has a parent. A parent is the item using the child object(s). Now expand the bipd box and find your character name (in my case, Noble 6). Next to a button called CHILDREN should say how many child objects are attatched to the parent (in my case, 4). Click CHILDREN. You probably see weap (weapon) tags and an equip (equipment which is an armor ability) tag. Well, the weapon tags are most likely unnamed so you have to do guess work and test something stupid Click on one weapon tag and change the coordinates last numbers to nine. If one is already nine bump up the next number and set the previous to zero (dominoe effect applies). Now do the same for the other child weapon tags. The last features here are to replace or delete tags. Another thing used just to play around and should only be used when you know what tag you replace or delete. Try it out a bit, and only some tags can be replaced (weapons, equipment etc.). So click OK when you're done here. The next window's only new feature is a custom message displayed when you resume the save. I'm going to put in "Ozzycow54 is badass!" You do whatever you want AHEMPutInOzzycow54IsSexyOrYouWillDieAHEM. Click OK and your save will be modded, but we ain't done with Liberty yet jtag/XDK users and smart people with retail 360s... SETTINGS, YAYZ!!! Click on settings on the top of Liberty. Click TAGLIST SETTINGS. A taglist is a file that names tags. First of all, if you use Ascension you might have some taglists already in your .maps folder. If you only have a retail though, you'll need to download some. They can be found HERE Note that almost ALL campaign maps won't have a taglist. Try looking up some. Have your taglists in a folder you'll remember. I put mine on my desktop and named it Taglists (I'm a creative little bugger ain't I ) Now tick the box that says Import Taglists From Ascension and click FIND. Browse to the folder you store your taglists in and that's it. Now a map(s) will have more named tags. UPDATED TUTORIAL, ♥ With Liberty being updated, and me currently at 99 posts, I wanted to make my hundredth count by updating and posting in this topic! If you've never used Liberty before, be sure to follow the tutorials above ↑ I'm going to go over the new features of Liberty, so let's get started: Look at that new GUI: With your save loaded, the "Fine Tuning" part is where it's at. We can now resize things and add 2 more weapons to your biped (that makes four, hombres). It's also much easier to use now. As you can see, I've loaded Noble Six. I'm going to make him three times the normal size And give him a rocket launcher and shotgun, in addition to the assault rifle and pistol. In the "Scale" box, you can put in the number of how much you want to increase the model size of the object (in this case, Noble Six). I would put in 3. It's a good idea (if you resize a biped) to resize it's child objects by the same multiplier. They can be viewed by clicking the "Carrying" button. It's rocket/shotgun time Click the "Weapons" tab while viewing a biped and click "Add". Add the weapons you want in the window that pops up. When you're finished, you can max out their ammo by viewing their tags and clicking over to the "Weapon" tab. You can also replace turrets on vehicles, like the gauss hog with the wraith turret. You just have to make sure that you highlight the original weapon and click "Drop", then click "Add" and select the new weapon. There are new tabs in the object editor, enabling you to do things quicker, and check things. It's very handy. After you're done editing, you can proceed to resign your save and put it back on your HDD. TUT FOR HCEA COMING SOON! MY ORIGINAL POST: http://www.modhalo.n...-on-retail-usb/

DOWNLOADS HMT V3.5 by MonoxideC here: http://www.gamefront...ra+Plug-Ins.ZIP PAINT.NET by the Paint.NET team here: http://www.dotpdn.co...nloads/pdn.html PLEASE INSTALL PAINT.NET BEFORE CONTINUING (UNLESS YOU HAVE A PREFERRED IMAGE EDITOR THAT CAN READ DXT'S) PART 1: Bitmaps and DXT Bitmaps are basically an image file that is mapped across parts of a 3D model. They are stored in tags, like anything else in Halo. DXT is a graphic compression unit, including things like DXT1, DXT3, and DXT5 and such. This is what Halo uses for it's images, and we'll be using Paint.NET to edit the images because it already has built-in support for DXT compressed graphics. Open up HMT v3.5 and you should get a window that looks like this: Nothing is loaded, so let's fix that by going to "File" and then "Open" and clicking that. A box should pop up and you'll need to find your Halo: PC maps. The usual directory is "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS". First, you should back up your "bitmaps.MAP" by copying and pasting it to a safe location on your hard drive, since that's the file we'll be editing from another .MAP that loads it. Confusing? Just read it over again and it should make sense a little more. Now we'll open the map of your choice in that box. I'm going to use bloodgulch.MAP, just because I personally love Bloodgulch. After opening your map, you should see a bunch of things load: The stuff we'll be editing is in the " + [bitm] Bitmap" dropdown box, so expand that. A ton more tags should load. I think I'll edit a weapon's texture, how about the plasma pistol? So scroll down until you find a tag called "weapons\plasma pistol\bitmaps\plasma pistol". In a box to the right, it should load the bitmap. The texture is 512 pixels by 512 pixels and is in the DXT1 format. It's not a very detailed texture is it? Well, let's see what we can do with it! Click the "Save Texture" button by the displayed bitmap. A window should pop up, you'll want to save the file to a common location so you can easily find it when editing it. I put it on my desktop, but whatever works for you is fine. PART 2: Editing in Paint.NET I've always found Paint.NET a powerful and easy free program. If you know how to edit images, you can use whatever you like, but I will be using Paint.NET. So open Paint.NET and it should look like this: A plain old, white image is created for us. We want to get our plasma pistol in there! Go to "File" and then click "Open". A box should pop up, and you'll need to find your bitmap. Ignore the weird weasel/monkey/dog icon from the GIMP. DXT's are set to load up in that program... Click open. If you're using the plasma pistol bitmap, Paint.NET should look like this: I'm going to let a video of me editing randomly take over here; I'm sorry if it's sloppy, I just wanted to get done quickly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DBQt_hBkTQ Alright! After saving the .DDS, you'll want to go back into HMT and by the area where the bitmap is showed, you should see the "Inject Texture" button. Click it, and in the box that pops up find your texture and hit "Open". If it says that the texture is bigger, just continue with the injection. You should see your edited texture load. You now have your texture inserted in place of the original plasma pistol's! You can edit other bitmaps, but make sure you save it in the original compression (DXT1, DXT3, DXT5 etc.). The first time I tried modeling with Blender was the day I almost threw my computer out of the window... And that model is incredible, I wish I had that much skill with MAX xD EDIT: Derek, why'd your work get [removed]? It was my inspiration to actually make my pics :/

Well, I personally wouldn't ever do drugs or even smoke in nicotine. I'm worried about health issues and the stuff people can get caught up in. Do whatever you want to do with the stuff, just keep the idea of smoking it out of mine and ten year olds heads...

Hmm, I don't know why that would happen. Try patching the .xex first and then run it straight from the hard drive. I'll try to look into it as soon as I can.
-
Just filled one out, I hope it helps, although, you have pretty much every perfect aspect in a site that a modder could ever want and need.

I. HATE. ASSEMBLY.

Looks like I should update my tut xD

I think my Explosives skill is high enough... Awesome, can you remove even more of the map or just half?

Honestly, I think that the person who "extracted" that model just did a really good job of recreating the original from Halo: Reach. A lot of people do that on Halo Maps, and a lot of the recreated models (like a recon armor spartan I saw on there) turn out really nice.

Well, I live in a mirrored dimension of ours in which I entered through a wormhole when I was travelling with the NASA supposedly "cancelled" Apollo project. I was taken forward in time (2000 years to be exact) in which world wars had ravaged the world with atomic carnage. I was forced to be a leader of an underground vault used as shelter inhabited ONLY by chimpanzees. I actually liked it there, I had a good life, a secratary named Cindy (ever seen a blonde freaking monkey? I didn't think so), and no worries. Plus, the vault was engineered to make it look like a Cuban island in which bananas were used as currency. The chimps and I frequently enjoyed banana martinis while watching reruns of several Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler movies. But then, a bearded man by the name of Alfonzo overthrew us with a robot army. Now I am forced to sell tourist t-shirts in a little stand along with Cindy and all the other chimps.

I would've liked to see another weapon aside from the battle rifle in that trailer, but all looks good so far.

Yeah, .AVI is the format that works best for me. I used to convert .AVI's a lot a long time ago when I screwed with Fallout: New Vegas intro vids. I tried converting a .WMV once, the quality turned out HORRIBLE.

O_O This is the best fan film I've ever seen! Can't wait till more come out!

Um... This is basically what our forums are for... It's not really needed to re-post everything in one huge mega-thread...
